Hi!

I’m a writer, journalist and critic. Right now, I’m a full-time freelancer, writing about arts, culture and entertainment — primarily TV & film — and what pop culture can tell us about about who we are. Last year, I was selected to participate in the National Critics Institute.

Recently, I’ve written for The New York Times Magazine, The L.A. Times, Rolling Stone, The Chicago Sun-Times and The Boston Globe. Before this, I was a Culture Reporter at TIME Magazine. Before that, I was the Culture Fellow at The New York Times, as part of their third annual fellowship class. And before that, I was a Features Reporter at The L.A. Times (I also worked on their Arts & Entertainment team.)

I was also awarded a Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellowship grant to write about memory work between Colombia & Chicago; this project later became part of the World Humanities Report.

I live with my cats, Momo & Fuku, and you can reach me at lizornosa@gmail.com.
